The short version: we don't sell your information, never have and never will. We ask so the birthday treat lands on the right day, and the seasonal note pitches to the right reader. Nothing else.
Who we are
We are 93 Degrees, a coffee shop and bistro at 213 Regents Park Road, London N3 3LD. We are the data controller for everything described below. To get in touch about your information, email dataprotection@93degreescoffee.com.
What we collect
When you sign up to our newsletter — at the till, on our Wi-Fi, or on the website — we ask for:
- your email address
- your name
- your date of birth (so we can send a treat on the day, and to confirm you're 13 or older)
- optionally, the first part of your postcode
If you set up an account, you choose a password. We never see or store the plaintext.
When you connect to our free Wi-Fi we keep a record of when your account signed in, so we can recognise returning customers. We don't store anything that would identify your device to a third party.
When a device first sees our Wi-Fi sign-in page we log a short, pseudonymous record of the visit — a one-way hash of the device's network address and the time. We use this to measure how the sign-in page is working and to spot problems. We never read raw device addresses back out, and we don't connect this record to anything outside the café. We delete these records after one year.
What we don't do
- No third-party tracking pixels. No advertising trackers. No analytics that profile you.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with advertisers.
- No tracking of you across other websites.
- No newsletter unless you opt in and confirm your email.
Lawful bases
We rely on your consent for the seasonal newsletter and the birthday treat. We rely on legitimate interests for keeping the Wi-Fi running and recognising returning customers. You can withdraw consent or object at any time — see Your rights below.
How long we keep things
We keep your details while you're subscribed. If you go two years without engaging with us, we'll send a single “are you still interested?” note and remove you if you don't reply.
If you unsubscribe, we keep just your email and the unsubscribe flag — a suppression list so we never accidentally re-add you — and delete the rest.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of carefully chosen technology providers located in the UK and the European Economic Area to deliver email, host the website, and store the database. Each one is bound by a written data-processing agreement. We don't transfer your information outside the UK or the EEA.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. You can ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, or to send you a copy in a portable format. Email dataprotection@93degreescoffee.com and we'll respond within one calendar month.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Unsubscribe
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. No login, no password — one click and you're off the list, takes effect immediately.
Cookies
The public site uses no analytics or marketing cookies. A small number of strictly-necessary cookies keep you signed in to your account.
Children
This service is for people aged 13 and older. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell anyone affected directly.
